FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Where are you based? How far will you travel?

I work in Greater Manchester, UK. I will travel if expenses are paid.

  2. What paints are used and are they safe?

The paints I use are quality emulsions and acrylics and are non-toxic, durable and washable (not with a scouring pad.) For heavy use E.G. a commercial nursery where there are many sticky little hands, I can apply a coat of clear acrylic varnish or use 'Kid proof' paint.

  3. How long does it take?

This is dependant on how much work there is to be done!

I can paint a single character on a wall in a few hours.

It can take a few days to do a wall.

It takes about a week to do an average sized room, 3-4 days for a small room and a larger, more complex theme will follow into the second week.

The longer I paint the more detailed it becomes, this will be discussed based on your budget.

  4. What surfaces can you work on?

I can paint on new plaster/lining paper or existing non textured wallpaper.  Walls should be coated with white Matt Emulsion so I have a blank canvas to work on. I can prepare rooms if required at an extra cost.

  5. How much does it cost?

How long is a piece of string?!This all depends on what you want doing and your budget. On average I charge £20an hour plus materials.

As a rough guide a mural will cost:

    Single Character/object: £80 (minimum charge)

    Two Characters/objects: £100

A complete scene faded out towards the edges of your wall: £250

    A completely covered wall: £400
